Art Blake, Ph.D.

Art Blake has 30 years experience in human resource and organizational development. He consults and coaches leaders and work teams in strategic planning, performance management & discipline, managing change, conflict resolution, meeting facilitation and communication. Challenging leaders and teams by providing reality-based feedback in appropriate ways is a central value and strength of his coaching style. Candor and authenticity are an integral part of his coaching practice. His coaching is tailored to “real world” client situations.

Twenty years of his experience was with Southern Company while serving as a management development specialist and organizational effectiveness principal consultant. Art has served in management positions and leadership roles. He teaches Managing Conflict and Leadership courses at Atlanta area colleges. Earlier in his career, he served in the US Marine Corps developing leaders; and was a high school athletic coach for two years.

Art has coached many leaders as well as teams as they plan, perform and evaluate what they do and manage transformation (production, sales and distribution as well as corporate staff functions).

He is a member of the following professional organizations: National Association of Business Coaches, Atlanta Human Resource Leadership Forum, Society of Human Resource Management, American Psychological Association, American Society of Training and Development and Organization Change Alliance.

Art completed a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development at Georgia State University where he also earned a masters degree in management. Art is a Registered Corporate Coach (RCC), Registered Mediator for the state of Georgia and holds other certifications in the Human Resource Development field.
