Sample Engagements
A
recently formed team was struggling with a lack of direction
at both the team and individual level. Our facilitation services
supported the formation of this new team as they assessed
the current reality. They then developed a clear picture
of where they wanted to go. They produced a vision, values,
identified products/services and identified customers to
serve, and measures for customer satisfaction. Team member
roles were clarified and negotiated. Strategies were developed
to move the organization from current situation to the desired
future. Thus, strategic planning occurred.
Direction of the team and its members was established and
a basis for assessment established.
The
accounting and finance departments of a Fortune 500 company
were engaged in conflict. Facilitation of constructive processes
was used to share perceptions of each other. We facilitated
their agreement on common goals, roles, and action plans
with milestones and success measures to have conflict
resolution.
Many
members of a recently formed corporate staff team were experiencing
inter-personal issues with each other that hindered performance.
Team members were not comfortable openly discussing issues
they had with each other. A management retreat allowed
for facilitation that encouraged and developed skills that
promoted constructive candid developmental feedback which
helped them serve their customers and reach their performance
goals. The team identified each team member’s strengths and
an area of improvement. Subsequent management retreats were
used as a follow up for progress checks.
A
company was considering the implementation of a peer review
disciplinary process. Management wanted to get a candid reaction
to the proposed process from a representative cross section
of employees. A cross-section of employees was assembled
(focus groups) to help determine the feasibility of implementing
the new disciplinary system. Facilitation of focus
groups allowed an effective process for participants
to give management the information they wanted for making
decisions.
